Chasing…

There comes a point in life where you stop chasing people who don’t choose you.

You stop keeping score. You stop wondering why you always seem to be the one reaching out, showing up, checking in, carrying the weight.

Instead, you start paying attention to the people who quietly do right by you.

They’re the ones who answer the phone. The ones who show up when there’s nothing to gain. The ones who celebrate your wins as loudly as their own. The ones who sit beside you in heartbreak without trying to fix it. The ones who remember. The ones who stay.

Over the years, I’ve learned that relationships aren’t built on big promises. They’re built on a thousand little moments of consistency.

A text asking if you’ve eaten.
A hug when there are no words.
A meal dropped off.
A ride to the airport.
Someone saying, “I’ve got this.”

Those things become the glue that holds us together.

I’ve been blessed with people who have carried me through the darkest chapters of my life. They’ve reminded me, over and over again, that kindness has a way of finding kindness. Good people somehow recognize each other.

So if someone has done right by you…do right by them.

Protect those friendships.
Cheer for them.
Show up for them.
Love them loudly.

Those are the people who become family, whether you’re related or not.

At the end of the day, that’s what lasts.

Do right by people who do right by you.

You’ll end up with the right kind of bonds.

Good day to the good. ✨
