If you looked at my day today, you’d probably laugh.

I researched oysters.

Talked about restaurants.

Looked at places for a girls’ getaway.

Helped build the GaBJOEY Fund.

Worked on Overdose Awareness Month.

Talked about Narcan.

Planned for September 12.

Answered messages.

Wrote posts.

On the surface, none of those things seem to have anything to do with each other.

But they do.

Every single one of them is about people.

Some people think advocacy is standing behind a podium with a microphone.

Sometimes it is.

But most of the time, it’s answering a text. Meeting someone for coffee. Helping a family find a bed. Delivering furniture to a recovery house. Finding baby gates for a mommy and me program. Connecting someone with a job. Helping a business find a way to give back.

It’s reminding people that Narcan is free.

It’s telling a mom to have the conversation with her kids.

It’s inviting a business to set up a free table because you never know who might walk by needing exactly what they have to offer.

It’s all connected.

People ask me all the time how I keep doing this after losing Vincent.

Now after losing Gabriella.

The answer hasn’t changed.

Because I couldn’t save my own children.

But maybe… just maybe… together we can save someone else’s.

That’s why Face the Facts exists.

Not because we think we can fix addiction.

But because we know what happens when communities stop talking about it.

One conversation can change a life.

One dose of Narcan can save a life.

One business can open a door.

One volunteer can make someone feel seen.

One family can realize they aren’t alone.

Today reminded me that this work isn’t just about overdose awareness.

It’s about building a community where people know someone cares enough to answer the phone, send the text, make the introduction, hand them a resource, or simply sit beside them when life falls apart.

That’s the kind of Delaware I want to help build.

One conversation at a time.

One person at a time.

Because every life is worth fighting for. 💜
